The 2007 Pacific hurricane season is an ongoing event in the annual cycle of tropical cyclone formation. It officially started May 15, 2007 in the eastern Pacific, designated as the area east of 140°W, will start on June 1, 2007 in the central Pacific, which is between the International Date Line and 140°W, and will last until November 30, 2007. These dates conventionally delimit the period of each year when most tropical cyclones form in the Pacific basin.

The Central Pacific basin does not do like the Atlantic or the rest of the Pacific basin. Instead, the Central Pacific uses 4 naming lists, as opposed to six. And, instead of using one list each year and recycling those lists every six years, the Central Pacific uses names from the list that it is currently on each time a storm forms. For example, the last storm in the Central Pacific basin was Hurricane Ioke in 2006.
The next storm that forms in the Central Pacific basin, following the 2006 season would be named Kika. If all the names are used up, the list restarts.
